What do you enjoy most about your work?
Making a difference! Very often we will receive problem cases that many other companies would file under B for Bin. We pride ourselves on taking a pragmatic approach and looking at ways to make a deal work rather than to take the easy way out. Sometimes this simply means educating our clients to get them where they want to be if its not possible right now.
What skills or strengths do you bring to the team?
I have been in financial services all of my working career that spans over 40 years. During this time, there are not many scenarios that I haven’t encountered in the past so I feel that I can pass on some of that experience to some of the lesser experienced members of the Ascot team.
What makes your approach to your job unique?
I am not hierarchical, I am approachable, knowledgeable and supportive. If there is a gap in the resource, I will happily role my sleeves up and get ‘stuck in’
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I have a lively cockapoo that keeps me busy – no matter how long you take him for a walk, he still wants to play ball when he gets back home! I also enjoy spending time with my 2 grandsons and having holidays in the sun.
